Through the rest of 2024, Matt and Ross Duffer will be filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things for Netflix. But the Duffers have already lined up one of their next projects at Netflix through their development deal with the streamer. According to Netflix, the new show will be a psychological horror series called Something Bad Is Going To Happen.

Haley Z. Boston is the creator and showrunner for Something Bad Is Going To Happen, and she will executive produce the series alongside the Duffer brothers and Hilary Leavitt through Upside Down Pictures. The series will follow a bride and groom during the week leading up to their wedding ceremony, which Netflix describes as “ill-fated nuptials.”

“We were knocked flat when we first read Haley’s script,” said the Duffers in a statement. “She is a major new talent with a singular voice–her writing is twisted, terrifying, funny, and just… very Haley. We feel so lucky to be producing her first show, and we can’t wait to share her vision with the rest of the world.”

In addition to Something Bad Is Going To Happen, the Duffers are also producing at least two other series for Netflix. The first show, The Boroughs, is expected to start shooting later this year.
